So you guys might be wondering Amanda what’s next in life? You did a DTS... lived in Hawaii. It’s now time to come back to the real world. Oh, and how much I would love to come back and be with family close to family.

But there’s still more to be done.

I will be beginning a three-year commitment to missions starting in June. There are so many unknowns to this, but I know this is what God wants for my life and he’ll provide. God has broken so many of my boxes and I want to continue to break more boxes. End of June I will be heading back to Kona for 3 months of what YWAM likes to call Leadership Track. It's what the name says all about leading!! I know missions and ministry in some way, shape, or form is in my future and I felt called to apply for this track to grow as a leader spiritually, physically, and mentally. Afterwards coming September, I will be entering a secondary school called Foundations for Revival and Reformation aka Rev and Ref. And here's a little background on what I will be doing. It’s 10 months total 9 studying and one month of outreach. The first three months is Bible… all things Bible where we read the Bible front to back in a week and study in depth. The next three months focus on worldview and biblical context. We look at different spheres of the world and how to look at them through a biblical lens. The last three months are more getting into apologetics and communications. So how will we effectively communicate what we’ve learned and how do we answer the hard questions? And to wrap up our nine months we have one month of outreach at the end concluding 10 months in total.

And you might be asking Amanda why are you doing this? Let me tell you. First off, to be really honest, I don’t want to go back to Hawaii, to live with nine other girls with one bathroom, and just away from all my comforts. But God wants this and God loves to do this he loves to push us, it’s a loving push, but it’s a push. Another reason why I believe God really wants me to do something apart from what my friends are doing. My friends in Kona are all staffing or doing something with each other. I believe God wants me to find true friendship in just him and him alone… while obviously, the community is crucial and healthy. But I really believe in a time of sweet intimate friendship with him instead of always being with people, doing the comfortable thing, living in the security net of my family and home. There are so many reasons but the last one I'll share is I really struggle with control. I always have, and I believe God really wants to set me free from that and in teaching me to trust in Him with literally everything. When it comes to finances that freaks me out. But I know this is what God wants for me, and that he’s such a faithful father, that will always provide what we need.

It’s not always what we want but it’s what we need.
